NZIST (New Zealand Institute of Skills & Technology) are working in partnership with Te Mana Ākonga to select two people to join the NZIST team for an exciting opportunity. NZIST are set to embark on a roadshow to engage with learners across Aotearoa. This will be online, work-based and campus based. In consultation with Te Mana Ākonga two roles have been established that will have a core focus on engaging with Māori learners.
These roles will join a team of facilitators/researchers who will travel across Aotearoa visiting the subsidiaries and transitional ITO of NZIST. This will be 2x full time, paid roles for 12 weeks and will commence on the 21st of September. These roles will also be involved in the analysis and mapping of learner journey's after visiting the regions. Costs related to meals and accommodation when travelling through the regions will be covered.
When NZIST was established on the 1st of April one of the things promised was the shift to a system where the unique needs of learners are at the centre, including those who have been traditionally underserved such as Māori. To achieve this a greater understanding of the unique needs of prospective and current learners as well as the staff and whānau who support them is required. These roles would act as Kaiurungi amongst the team, coordinating them to ensure the unique needs of Māori learners in NZIST are voiced and heard.
If this sounds like an opportunity you would be interested in please send a cover letter + C.V to tumuaki@students.org.nz by Thursday 10th of September (5pm).
**Please note that this role is not available to currently enrolled students or members of the Te Mana Ākonga 2020 National Executive.
